What that includes: Session included family photos, group photos of children, individual photos of children, and couples photos if wanted. Perfect for families of any size. An additional $50 is added for extended family of any number. The more family members added, the less individual photos there will be in the completed album.
It amazes me how much moms in particular, stress about family photos. But, as a mother, I can also sympathize with all that goes along with the dreaded family photo sessions! What do I wear? What do I dress everyone else in? Are the kids going to be grumpy? Why does my husband hate photos so much? What time is a good time to take them? Where are we going to take the photos?
Let me relieve you of this stress…
I will take care of all of it! Not sure what to wear? I’ll help you decide. I always go with a key rule of thumb…DRESS AROUND MOM! Mom is the most important person in the photograph. If mom doesn’t like it or if mom doesn’t think she looks good, the photo will not get printed! So, Mom gets to pick her outfit first! Pick something you feel comfortable in, but something you know is flattering. Prints are awesome! Women, try to stay away from horizontal stripes (this rule doesn’t always apply) and boxy dresses or tops. Cardigans and tops with lose ¾ sleeves can also be very boxy and make your arms seem shorter, creating the illusion that your body is shorter also. Flats are fine, but if you’re comfortable in a shoe with a bit of a heel, that will always make you look and feel thinner! Once mom has an outfit she loves, then you can build the family around that! You want to avoid putting everyone in the same color. In fact, try not to have more than 2 people in the same or similar color. A mixture of prints, stripes, plaids, solids, layers, and floral all go together really well! You don’t all have to wear a solid or a prints, etc. Layers are always great as well! I’m happy to help with any styling assistance you need for your family. Mom, if dad wants to wear a hat...let him! We want him to be comfortable as well, and we don't want to get him "grumpy" before the shoot begins.Let the kiddos bring a toy...a truck or an action figure! Let little Susie bring her baby doll! I promise, all of these props are things that can keep a child interested, avoid grief before the session, and typically make for some excellent shots! Plus, this is who your kids are right now! Their lives revolve around their favorite thing...which could be a toy, a ball, a teddy bear...this is what you'll want to remember when they're older.
Family sessions will include both posed and candid family shots, as well as posed and candid shots of any children. I’m also happy to take a few couple photos as well! Family sessions should be fun….not something you dread! I sometimes bring goodies for the kids and dad (as he is typically not excited about taking pictures) and the whole photo shoot is comfortable and not staged. This makes it a fun experience!
